Magic Boxes

Here's a fun little video I shot recently of a big unwieldy cardboard box maze I built in our basement. You can learn more about the making of this video here . [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSEUGxa-lLg]

My N!

Image
Netta and Bailey have eagles eyes for their letter. Netta's is 'N', Bailey's is 'B'. We'll be driving down the road and Bailey will see a sign and say, "My B!" It's fun and hilarious. We haven't really gone out of our way to teach them about letters, they just seem really interested. As we were leaving the bathroom at the Y the other day Netta stopped me to point out her N. Nice find, Netta! \ \

Wheeling around the zoo

I have a hurt leg that is getting lots better. But Im supposed to not do alot of walking so I opted for a wheelchair at the zoo today. Nothing could have made the children happier...

Art saves the day

Image
Jess and I had a date night tonight as Joanna, Jessica's extraordinary step mother and person, babysat on our four kids. Apparently Bailey was crying lots at bedtime, Joanna couldn't console her. She asked art for advice. He said sometimes bailey likes sleeping in our "big bed." So he just went in and escorted a crying Bailey to our bed and snuggled in with her until our return. We were so tickled and delighted to find this scene in our bed. Art is a loving big brother.

More identical twins

Image
The girls both got a haircut today. And they now look the same. For the longest time we've always given the twin girls different haircuts so we (and especially others) could easily tell them apart. No more! "Netta looks like Bailey!" Lewis said . Netta wanted short hair like Jessica and Bailey followed suit. Jessica always said that as soon as they girls were old enough to decide stuff she let them choose their hairstyle, etc, as a way of empowering them. What a smart woman.

Paint 'stamping'

Image
Jessica tried to get the girls involved in stamping, which immediately devolved into hand painting.

Looking requests

Poor Jessica is constantly being asked to look some amazing thing one of the kids is doing. "Mama, look at this! Mama, watch this. Mama! Mama! Look!" It's a constant refrain. Today she had this wonderful retort to Netta's request for looking: "Do I have to look at you right now? There are so many other things I'd rather look at."
