Happy New Year

Image
I hope you have a nice new year and are happy enough! And if you're feeling sadness I hope it lifts. It's can be dark and cold out there, as it was tonight when we braved the -4 degree (w/out windchill!) for a candlelight walk at Wood Lake Nature Center. Happy New Year folks.

Josh's mazes.

Image
My brother Josh has always been a fantastic maze maker. And amazing maze maker! Even since he was little. We have this one he made from long ago, probably a teenager? Fantastic detail and imagination and attention to detail in this thing: Arthur and Lewis, too, have been been working on making mazes lately. I'm sure we'll share some in this space eventually but for now let me share the one Josh made for Art when he stopped by over the weekend. Art had to run and pee before finishing it he was laughing so hard. Some of the pitfalls in this maze: You go to school naked! You eat a stinky hot dog! You pooped your pants! Papa poops on you! You slip and fall into poop!

Happy birthday to Jessica!!

Art's camera

Recently an old camera of ours resurfaced. Art had found it and started taking photos of things with it again. And they're great. I love they way he just looks at something and then takes it's photo. No trying to get all fancy with angles or light. It's a fun window into what he sees and what he thinks is worth remembering. And of course I edited these down lots so these are also what I  think is good. He probably would've edited an entirely different set of photos. Anyway, I'm going to post these over the next few days since there are lots. The inside of my mouth.

Are Netta and Bailey identical twins?

Image
We're going to find out soon! We just sent off a couple little vials of their saliva for a DNA test. They had their own placentas and sacks which makes it less likely they're identical, but it's still possible and, as you can see from these photos I collected from their short three lives, they often LOOK identical. As I posted on Facebook , you are welcome to offer a guess. As soon as we get the results I'll post again! ben!
