Art calls for me, sometimes when I'm not even here. He holds the dish soap and says, "Bu-buh" so I will make bubbles for him. He asks for apples or applesauce at sight. He is experiencing a language explosion! And I hear it's only going to get better from here on out!!!

I tried to put art down for a nap and he resisted. Here are some sounds of him almost napping, and eventually finding the recorder... LISTEN HERE

Just wanted to give an update on Art's latest language additions. "Noo-noo" n. Noodles "Wa-oo" n. Water "Nih" v. Nurse "Nih" n. Knee He also has a few commands. One which we just started using a week ago has been fully integrated into his communication - "Help, please!" which, when he says it, sounds like "Up-bee!" He says that a lot now. His other new words he usually only says if you say it first, except for knee. If he bumps his knee he'll hold it and tell us, "Nih!" And he'll say water if he sees a glass or bottle of it and wants a drink. This has been your language update for May 23, 1:27pm. More news later.

A whole egg, 1/4 piece of toast, two sections of grapefruit, a 4 oz. yogurt and about 1/4 cup of applesauce. Remember, a toddler's stomach is the size of his fist. In Art's case, that is disproportionately large.

 

BIG FUN with his Papa. (Lush lawn not our own, but our neighbor's.) Art with Maura, resident of the home with the lush lawn. FREE! Me running around with Art at a really dead Chinese restaraunt. Ben was out of town for the last four+ days. It sucked being a single Mom, but it was a blast seeing them reunited! They both laughed as hard as their bodies would allow just seeing each other! Now Art's running around naked while Ben wrangles him into the tub. I'm glad everyone's home!

My second Mother's day in my life as a mom. Yeah! Art gave me a lovely present - he slept in until 6:50am. Here's some recent pictures; Crazy sleeping position: Taking his wagon for a walk: Getting sunglasses on by himself... Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Jessica just bought Art his own toothbrush. He's been watching us brush our teeth for a while. here's what she just wrote in an e-mail: I tell you, Ben, I handed that to him and he looked at it as if it were the key to the city!  A gold dubloon!  A magic fairy!  He looked so happy and amazed.  We went upstairs and we brushed our teeth, and each other's teeth, for almost ten minutes.  It was really awesome.
