New Stats

Another check-up today. Six months! Art weighs.... (drumroll...) 19 lbs!!! NINE-TEEN! And he is 27 and 3/4 inches long. Apparently that is only 75th percentile, so he's doing just great. Everything else looked good, and tasted good. He ate the stethascope, the kleenex box, the blanket, and tried to eat the ear thing. Happy half-birthday, Art!

Busy Baby!

Image
Here is Art busy as a bee, spinning the wheel on that busy box. He worked very hard on that project for some time. Right now, as I type, he's in his high chair swatting at his toy piano keys, and babbling now and then. Busy busy busy!

A Babbler!

Babbling Baby!

Today Art suddenly started to babble. Mostly "Bau, bau, bau" with an occasional "Mau, mau" and lots of silent versions, where his mouth would move as if he were saying something but nothing came out. Just the sound of his lips opening and closing. You will surely hear it in the next video installment!

New Video of Art in Arkansas

Image
This is a seven-minute video of Art visiting his Nanna (my mama), in Arkansas (my home). Getting bathed, bounced, strolled, massaged, and otherwise loved-on non-stop by his grandmother.

Art during his daily spatula play time.

More hair and fish!

This is another bad flash picture demonstrating Art's new hair and highlighting his fish (by Ben's leg). I'm getting back on blogging track!

NEW HAIR

Image
Alright, I know it's not a great photograph, but I actually think it's kind of funny. It also shows his rapidly growing new hair, and his bar none favorite toy, the Fish with buggy eyes.

It's a Boy!

First of all, sorry to all Grandma's and Art lovers for my posting laziness. I'm getting back on track here. I'm gonna put some fresh batteries in the camera today and take mental notes of Art's many achievements. For those of you who did not know, Art is sitting up all by himself these days! He turned a big corner with it in Arkansas two weeks ago and now I can be 98% confident about setting him on the floor without bumper pillows to break his fall. He's also trying to move around. He's not doing real well, when he does get inspired to roll onto his belly and try to get something far ahead he ends of flailing, kind of like a turtle on a rock. The arms and legs just don't touch the ground. Anyway, I was looking a Art sitting on the bed yesterday and playing with some toys. He was in just a diaper and he was so busy! But mostly I was noticing how, sitting up like that, he looked like a REAL boy! You can kind of get the jist of it in the photo of his...

Art is a player.

I slept downstairs tonight and jessica slept with her new very small man. When he woke up at 8, I went up and snagged him so she could keep sleeping. He and I were playing in the living room. Man! He is starting to really love to play with items. All sorts of items. He wasn't interested in me or sounds or making faces, but only in getting his hands on everything he could and jamming it in his mouth. It was so funny. NEwspapers, magazines, plush stuffed squids, a bottle of viatimins, a bag of chips. he was so focused! Then he got tired and I put him down for a nap. And I think I hear him waking up now....
