Happy birthday, little boy!

Today Arthur turns 7.

Night musings.

Some people in our family don't really talk in their sleep (Art) but rather start blabbering as soon as they realize there is an audience, whether the sun is up or it's 3am.  While some members of our family rarely say something, some children in our family (BAILEY!) talk in their sleep almost nightly.  Enjoy some of the nighttime musings of our children... "My apple!!!  MY APPLE!" "Momma, today can you put macaroni and cheese in my lunch since I didn't get to eat it yesterday?  But you know, sometimes it can be okay for me to have school breakfast and school lunch.  Can we do that today?" "MIIIIIIIINE!"  (followed by heavy sobs)  "I try it?" "Apple!  Ehhhh apple!" (Same night as other apple caller) "STOP!  STOP!  MY CRACKERS!!! " "I mean it.  It's SOOO easy." "NO, ARRRT!"

Lantern Walk

A couple weeks ago Lewis and his preschool friends went on a nighttime lantern walk. Here's a photo of them.

Bailey's first google search.

I discovered this after having left the iPad on alone in a room with Bailey.  I don't know how she got to google or entered the query.  More do I know how she moved my mail and music apps off the dock... Lewis keeps a little wooden box in his bed with loose change, marbles and other random stuff he's scavenged in our home. When he was at preschool the other day the girls spent an hour sitting on his bed and passing 'money' back and forth. Found this great magnet at Ray's Closeouts in Hancock, Wisconsin (where the cottage is). They made them for a quarterback in the NFL. I bought a bunch. It's not accurate all the time as I keep it on even if I'm NOT at work. I hope if ever see it it's when I am at actually at work.

Arthur's first short film.

I suggest taking some Dramamine before watching this... [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7CbZSN4dR6g?rel=0]

A bunch of photos Arthur and Lewis took.

The boys have discovered how much fun it can be to take photos and videos. Of everything and anything. This video is pretty lame (w/ no sound), but I didn't know how else to share all these without it being extra annoying on the blog. The video has some weird imaging problem but you get the idea. "Excuse me, you mind if I just read this over here?" -Bailey Walking up and down the stair takes for FUC$#&NG EVER!!! It was overwhelming watching all the kids so we stuck Lewis in here for a bit...

Art from the past.

I've failed my family lately on the whole taking-photos-of-them front. So, here's a some wonderful photo of Arthur from long ago. I threw in Evva just for the HELL OF IT!

Mother Earth visits preschool.

Image
Each year at Lewis' preschool (formerly Arthur's preschool and next year Netta and Bailey's) Mother Earth comes for a visit. The real Mother Earth, no shit! The kids can ask her questions and I think she reads a book or talks about the earth, etc. Here's a photo Ms. Jen took yesterday.

Lovely to come home to this. A rare cellist sighting!

My new blog.

Image
I recently started a new blog at work called Flash Garvin . It's a fun new place for me to share stories and my pictures. Here's the awesome cover artwork drawn by a comic-book-author-friend-of-a-friend Zander Cannon : http://blogs.twincities.com/flashgarvin

A note about this blog.

There's been a noticeable decline in posting that I'm learning to feel less bad about. I would often stay up too late blogging, get less sleep, be less happy. So I've been using that time read and hit the sack when Jessica does, a rarity. And that's been healthy. So if you see fewer posts lately know that it's because I'm sleeping better. That said, this blog will continue on FOREVER! Just with less posting frequency for now...
