A while back we signed Arthur up with a modeling agency, and this morning Art had his first shoot. It was for the cover of Target's annual report. They put him in a red shirt, in a red cart, with lots of red products, and asked him to smile. He was overwhelmed at first but as soon as I muttered "chicken riiiiiiice" in the background he gave some excellent smiles. The photographers seemed real happy. That said, modeling doesn't pay much and jess and I agree that we won't do it as soon as Art understands what the hell is going on. But it was a fun outing and they gave Art a bunch of strawberries after the shoot!

Art skipped sleeping during naptime today.  Instead, here are some of the gems from his long monologue while he was alone in his room. Excuse me.  Excuse me! I'm flyyyiiinng away.... I'm flying away... 5....6....Arta bushsis iss!  Where'd he go? No.... more... monkeys... jumping... on the...bed One fell off and bumped his head! Ima' go to work. Ima' go to work. Hello!  I name is Jess-ti-ca 1...2...3..4...5...6...7...8... Basha bont bot.  Daddo bi dow! Here you go.  Hello!  Hello! All done.  No more reading that book. Oh... stark beese... good bye.  Bye bye! No...more...reading books!  That's right. There's no more. Mama!?!  Want to get out!! LION! And that was the end of his 50 minute "quiet time".

It was moderately warm the other day, about 35 degrees, and we went out for a family walk. Art enjoyed the puddles but was a little nervous about walking in the snow.

A few weeks ago josh made a snowman in our backyard and it's still barely hanging in there. Everytime we pass it Art declares, "Josh made a snowman!" I worry about what will happen when warm weather comes.

Friday nights been been Puzzle Night around here for a few weeks now. Aunt Emily comes over and we work on a puzzle after Art goes to sleep. This time Art "helped" a little bit. Look at that pro? He even reached for the box to check the picture on the lid, just like Em! TODDLER HELPS WITH 500+ PIECE PUZZLE! The next morning Art and I snuggled in bed and watched fish (Blue Planet documentary). He especially likes the parts with the sardines, when they're coming toward the camera with their "Mouths Open!" and he likes the funny looking fish that float up from the depths at night. And the sharks. He likes those. By the way, this picture of him with his bunny is posed. Could you guess? I told him to smile and that's the face I got. Funny.

Or maybe not. I did gain almost FOUR pounds last week!
